Operator A says that 3D printer bearings don’t have any excessive load so they don’t need to be lubricated aside from when the factory does it.

All machines with moving components should be lubricated regularly with the proper lubricant to prevent binding and potential corrosion inside the bearing.

=============================

While printers can fail at random times during a print, the most critical layers are the first few and if they are successful you have a very high chance of success so long as the supports and model are designed and oriented properly.

=============================

Notice the middle of the part where it is almost translucent. Also notice the sides where the plastic is creating ridges, this shows the nozzle is too close and the layer is too thin and the extrusion is overcoming the path it was designed to take.

=============================

The belts on a printer will stretch over time and should be checked every 3 months to ensure proper tension is kept.

=============================

The print bed being not properly leveled can throw off the first layer which can impact each of these items during and after the print.

=============================

The moisture in the filament is brought to a boil and it turns into vapor much like boiling water which is what causes the popping sound.

=============================

This calibration step is commonly not done correctly by new users which would lead to a poor first layer and parts to fail by releasing from the build plate.

=============================

The filament is often not considered when printing a new object, it is critical to ensure there is enough material before starting it and leaving it to work for multiple hours.

=============================

Printer manufacturers go through extensive quality control in most cases, so the most common issue for a new machine is how the user leveled the bed before its first print.

All polymers are hygroscopic, so they absorb moisture.  For best storage they should all be kept dry when not in use.
